Since 2010 I have been photographing weddings the length and breadth of Italy, civil weddings,
pretty much everywhere you can think of!
My family and I live in the stunning Italian region of Abruzzo between the mountains and the sea.
One of the few places in the world where you can be skiing and then swimming in the sea just an hour later! It’s a fabulous region for those looking for a unique wedding, either on the coast
or maybe in a vineyard or a castle!
The main reason why we chose Abruzzo is because with it’s central location I’m perfectly situated to photograph weddings all over Italy.
Rome, Lazio is our neighbouring region and of course a hugely popular place to get married. There are numerous churches that offer wedding ceremonies for English, American and Irish couples.
Civil ceremonies can be conducted at several locations too.
Or for those that want to create something completely bespoke why not have a symbolic ceremony on a rooftop!
South of Rome I often find myself on the Amalfi Coast, more often than not in Sorrento.
The Cloisters is a magical location to get married,
and then afterwards there is an incredible choice of spots for you to enjoy the rest of your wedding day and to watch the sunset.
In central Italy the regions of Tuscany and Umbria and very popular with good reason. If you are looking for a wedding in a villa
or in a beautiful hilltop town the choice is almost overwhelming.
For those looking for the wow factor then Lake Como is often the choice.
With the picture perfect towns of Bellagio or Varenna as a backdrop it’s hard to imagine a more beautiful scene.
And then there’s places such as Villa Balbianello, the setting for some of the most famous films, it’s a totally unique wedding experience.
Failing that you can choose from a wealth of stately villas.
Oh, and don’t forget to squeeze in at least a little time on the lake!
That’s just a small selection of the places I’ve been lucky enough to photograph but above all it’s not the places that make this job amazing, it’s the people,
and the moments.
I’ve been incredibly lucky to meet hundreds of couples from literally all over the world.
That’s what makes every wedding unique, special, romantic and unforgettable.
